Master Morality: The Cure for Powerlessness (EP IV.)
How Nietzsche’s radical mindset shift can help you reclaim your command power, sovereignity and confidence.
“What is good?
All that heightens the feeling of power, the will to power, power itself in man.
What is bad? All that proceeds from weakness.”
— Friedrich Nietzsche, The Antichrist
You’re sick.
That’s neither a judgement nor a compliment.
It’s your own conclusion after an honest self-observation.
Or perhaps you’re not completely stricken by this illness, but you can’t unsee some of the symptoms - your short attention span, lack of creativity, passivity and mainly lack of aliveness.
Whatever the case may be, you know that things could be better.
Your mind sharper.
Your soul - free and fulfilled.
So you decide to just “break the fkn chains”.
Afterall, what could be so hard about it?
And though I might shoot at you several arguments right from the hip,
I’ll stay quiet for now and admit that the toughest part is already behind you.
Namely, you self-diagnosed the illness (EP I. & EP II.) you know the source of the problem (EP III.)
Most sheep never realize the wool could be a problem.
Afterall, it’s so warm, comfortable and everybody is wearing it, right?
Unlike other people you deployed self-honesty and opened yourself to the possibility that you may be doing certain things wrong.
That takes balls.
Sheep don’t have balls. (metaphorically speaking)
Master Morality - The Cure
There is one positive thing about this mental virus - it’s curable.
Unlike cancer, AIDS or certain auto-immune diseases, this problem is completely in your hands. Or should I say - braincells?
But it demands one thing sheep don’t have.
You already know where this is going, don’t you?
Courage, of course.
Huevos. As Steven Pressfield would say — and demand.
Master morality is all about being a contrarian.
To question what others take for granted.
To be able to stand alone when doubted by others and many times even by yourself.
Master Morality, in one sentence, is to place self-reliance above any status quo or judgement of others. To make it your ultimate guiding principle.
It means to choose YOUR WAY over any other pre-adjusted way.
Even when yours is stony and the other is inlaid by roses.
Even when- especially when - the other path is straight-lined and yours uncertain.
Why?
"Examine the lives of the best and most fruitful people and peoples and ask yourselves whether a tree that is to grow to a proud height can do without bad weather and storms."
- F. Nietzsche (Gay Science, §302)
All the Greats in the world’s history embraced Master Morality as their life-policy.
They went against the grain.
Both the humans and the trees.
Actually, the trees went from the grain against the grain!
(Ok, I’ll see myself out)
5 Self-prompts to kickstart your Master Morality Mindset
In last Sunday’s Premium episode we went through 3 Tools to Break Free from Slave Morality and Rebuild Your Self from Scratch. If you have missed it, I suggest you start there.
In this week’s Premium episode we’ll take a closer look at the Necessary Mindshifts to achieve lasting and useful Master Morality.
But today I want to leave you with 5 mind-rewiring prompts that you can take action on - immediately.
Write 3-5 endings to each of these prompts:
When I think of how most decisions in my life are made, I think of…
When I reflect on the words slave and master I tend to see myself as…
When I reflect on the words slave and master other tend to see me/ refer to me mostly as…
If I was to cease to be a slave and become the master of my life I would…
If I was to cease being a slave to the opinions of others, I would stop…
Go ahead.
Don’t think too long.
Grab a sheet of paper, a pencil and write the first endings that come to your mind.
Pro tip: If nothing's coming to your mind, read the question aloud a couple times.
You ask the question, your subconsciousness replies.
It already has all the answers.
You just have to have the huevos, to ask for them.
Good Luck, Mr./Mrs. future Master!
Thank you for reading!
See you soon, fellow thinker.
